Caribbean Vacations - Sun And Sand All Year Round

!±8± Caribbean Vacations - Sun And Sand All Year Round

Christmas in the Caribbean

What did you do for Christmas last year? Did you wade through seas of people and endure rude sales clerks in a mad dash to get your last minute shopping done? Maybe you loaded up the minivan and hauled your family across three states to a relatives house for three straight days of mass organized chaos. No matter what you did, it's a safe bet that there a lot stress involved. Are you looking forward to doing the same thing this year, or do you think maybe it's time for a change? Instead of saving up your pennies for a summer trip, maybe you should consider a holiday in the Caribbean instead.

Sunny Caribbean Vacation in December or January

In the Caribbean, the sun shines year round so there is no reason you shouldn't enjoy it in December or January. Aruba, Barbados, the Cayman Islands or any one of the destinations in the Caribbean will act as a welcome replacement to the stressful winter your friends are facing back home. It may not be the holiday season you are used to, but in the Caribbean you can make your own new traditions. While your friends are scraping the ice off of their windshields, you will be listening to the waves crash on the shore from your beach chair. As everyone back at home is fighting over the last parking spot at the mall, you'll be watching the sunset over the ocean horizon.

Worry-Free Way to Travel to the Caribbean

One of the most worry-free ways to travel to the Caribbean during the holidays or any other time is to find an all-inclusive resort or travel package. Make sure it is reputable so you don't end up in a no-name hotel downtown somewhere with questionable food and watered-down drinks. If you have the means, try going through a travel agent to book all of the details. For a less expensive method, there are countless internet travel sites that offer special rates when you book vacations as a package. The most important part--as with any vacation planning--is that you trust the source you decide to use after doing plenty of research.

There are several places to choose from when trying to decide where to spend your Caribbean holiday. Finding the right one for you requires knowing your budget, what you want to do as far as activities, and what is going to have the best availabilities. The Bahamas are very popular and among the most common vacation spots in the Caribbean. Visit the Changing of the Guards Ceremony or attend a Friday night Fish Fry in Grand Bahama Island. There is no shortage of events to attend or activities year round in this tropical paradise.

Checking Out How the "Other Half" Lives at St. Bart's

If you are interested in seeing how the "other half" lives, you might want to check out St. Barthelemy, affectionately dubbed St. Bart's by its loyal--and wealthy--visitors. Known for its pristine beaches and gourmet restaurants, St. Bart's is a Mecca for the rich and famous. If you can afford it, you'll have no trouble finding pampering on this island. Though there are several hotels to choose from, the most popular accommodations are villas and bungalows. You may end up spending more than you planned if you hit up St. Bart's, so if you are on a tight budget you might want to stick to one of the other many options.

Christmas Caribbean vacations are not exactly a new idea. As long as there have been shopping malls and insane relatives, there have been people desperately trying to escape them. While there is definitely a busy season in the Caribbean, it's difficult to find a season that does not attract a loyal following of tourists. Whether it's Curacao, Barbados, Grand Cayman, St. Lucia, St. Maarten or anywhere else in the Caribbean, you probably won't find yourself feeling homesick anytime soon. If you do pine for a traditional Christmas custom, find yourself a palm tree to decorate and remember that a week from now you will be back at home wishing you were here. Happy Holidays!

Winter Ski Family Holidays In The French Alps

!±8± Winter Ski Family Holidays In The French Alps

The Alpine mountain range spans Italy, France, Slovenia, Switzerland, Monaco, Austria, the Principality of Leichtenstein and Germany. The French Alps boast the highest altitude with Mont Blanc reaching for the skies at an impressive 4809 metres.

The French Alps host a large number of holiday destinations for both summer and winter activities. They can be accessed with relative ease via Geneva and Lyon airports with most resorts running shuttle buses to and from the airports. Choosing the winter resort that is best for you can be hard when you are spoilt for choice. Each resort has it's own benefits for different types of holidays, and most of them are open in summer and winter. Samoens is one such resort, but instead of being a purpose built facility Samoens has been kept in a traditional style, built round a historic and picturesque village. Unlike many modern European resorts Samoens is not a comprised of concrete blocks of flats designed to take as many holiday makers as possible over the season, but rather of an old style traditional village.

Samoens in the heart of the Haute Savoie, at the base of the Grand Massif is one if the prettiest resorts in the French Alps. Unlike some of the modern concrete jungles found spread throughout the Alps, Samoens is a traditional farming and stone cutting village dating back to the 1400s. It's picturesque landscape, sprinkling of hamlets and chapels, and market place with landmark lime tree, Le Gros Tilleul planted in 1438, in the centre provides a different kind of skiing holiday. Traditional charcuteries, boulangeries and fromageries line the main street, along with the odd supermarche for convenience.

A wide variety of activities are available in both summer and winter. For skiers and snow-boarders, the Grand Massif is one of the largest ski areas in the Alps, with a great snow record. Besides skiing the Alps offer a multitude of other activities to keep the family happy and excited about your Alpine trip. In many resorts you will find pampering spas facilities, relaxing bars and restaurants, and shops, which vary dependent on your choice of destination. For the more adventurous you can easily access ice driving, dog sledding, snowshoe walking, fishing, paragliding, ice climbing, and much more to make your pulse race. Whatever your taste, you'll find plenty to keep you occupied. During the summer months families can indulge in a variety of activities including golf, horese riding, via ferrata, hiking, white water rafting, cycling, tennis and archery. There are around 900km of hiking paths and eleven hiking huts around Samoens, ensuring intreoid adventuers have plenty to keep them occupied.

For fully catered luxury chalet holidays for groups and families, or for self catering apartments in Samoens look no further than Absolute Alpine. This small, family run business will cater for you using fresh, local ingredients where possible, and their luxury chalets, Grande Ourse and Petite Ourse sleep up to 18, and both feature a hot tub to soak away the day. The Savoyrard style fits into the landscape beautifully, with plenty of space, a modern design and convenient location for shops and the ski lifts. For something a little less grand the L'Appartement Bel Espace sleeps 4, and is situated a stone's throw from Grand Massif Express lift. Bel Espace is a self catering apartment with fully equipped kitchen and BBQ facilities. A modern, stylish and self contained home from home. Absolute Alpine's Trip Advisor and Testimonial record stands testament to their high quality chalets, apartment, and service.
